For Immediate Release – International Jazz Day 2013, April 30th 1:00PM to 3:00PM Lunch Time Concert

April 30 2013 – 504 Magazines, The New Orleans Agenda and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) will host the 2nd Annual International Jazz Day, lunch time concert in the birthplace of Jazz, New Orleans LA.

“We are delighted to announce that Café Istanbul will serve as the host venue for the 2013 International Jazz Day celebration on this auspicious event,” stated, William Doc Jones, musician and Publisher of 504Multimedia. Café Istanbul, known to be a meeting place for global cultures is an ideal location to highlight the extensive influence of jazz.

Although it was born in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century, jazz is rooted in African traditions, draws from European musical forms, and has evolved into various styles across the globe.
504Multimedia/504Magazine is Sponsoring this year’s International Jazz Day in New Orleans which was adopted by UNESCO Member States on the initiative of UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock (pictured here with Dr. William Jones). New Orleans’ celebration of Int’l Jazz Day is slated to celebrate Mr. Hancock’s contributions to the Art of Jazz. Ambassador Hancock agrees with the initiative of International Jazz Day, which seeks to raise awareness, in the National and International community, about the virtues of Jazz as an educational tool; a force for peace, to encourage unity and dialogue, while enhancing cooperation among people around the world.

This year, concerts for International Jazz Day will be held at Café Istanbul on 23272 St Claude, New Orleans, downtown 1 east Washington Phoenix, Arizona at CityScape, as well as at other venues to be announce at a later date in Tokyo, Japan, Atlanta Georgia, Chicago, Illinois and Los Angeles, California. In conjunction with this our event, other celebrations and educational programs are planned to take place around the globe. Check with your local libraries, schools, performing arts centers, with artists and arts organizations of all disciplines around the world. Ambassador Hancock, will be the focus person in Instanbul Turkey and has announced, “On International Jazz Day, jazz is celebrated, studied, and performed around the world for 24 hours straight.” Presentations held in the United States will be hosted by 504Multimedia and 504Magazine and those under the 504Mag umbrella. Hancock further stated, “Collaborations among jazz icons, scholars, composers, musicians, dancers, writers, and thinkers who embrace the beauty, spirit, and principles of jazz, freely sharing experiences and performances in our big cities and in our small towns, all across our seven continents.”

The United States’ contributions to this great Art form will kickoff with special lunch time performances in New Orleans, LA and Phoenix, AZ. One of our country’s leading young Jazz bands, the Yisrael Trio, will perform at New Orleans’ Café istanbul. Doc Jones will lead an allstar band at City Scape in Phoenix City Officials, musicians, Jazz lovers are in for a guaranteed treat! The Yisrael Trio will be conducted by Dr Lud Yisael. In Phoenix, Arizona, under the direction of Doc Jones, you’ll get “A Taste Of New Orleans,” at a free lunch time concert at the popular CityScape. 1 east Washington Phx AZ from 11:00 AM to 2:00PM a Special meet and greet happy hour upstair at Cooper Blues from 3:00PM to 6:00PM and ending with a Black Tie corporate concert with a very Surprise guess headliner (to be named later) from 7:30PM to 10:00PM
